• dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca
• dharma-kṣetre kuru-kṣetre
• samavetā yuyutsavaḥ
• māmakāḥ pāṇḍavāś caiva
• kim akurvata sañjaya

Translation

Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: O Sañjaya, after my sons and the sons of Pāṇḍu assembled in the place of pilgrimage at Kurukṣetra, desiring to fight, what did they do?
