• annād bhavanti bhūtāni
• parjanyād anna-sambhavaḥ
• yajñād bhavati parjanyo
• yajñaḥ karma-samudbhavaḥ

Translation

All living bodies subsist on food grains, which are produced from rains. Rains are produced by performance of yajña [sacrifice], and yajña is born of prescribed duties.
